Yes, I was woken quite abruptly by the storm over my student house at four in the morning. It almost sounded like the sky was angry, roaring away and throwing a tearful tantrum. But that’s not the point of this post despite what the title says. I want to introduce my housemates of 2013/14 to everyone today and I’ll do so in the reverse order that I met them.
At number 4 (not that it makes him fourth, he’s just the last one I met out of all of them), we have Melan and he is perhaps the gentlest person I have ever met. I knew we would get along when I first met him and it was an added bonus that he was into the things that I was into as well. Mainly, television shows. He’s a television addict and I never fail to hear his programmes when I wake up. It’s become so normal that everyone will ask ‘Where’s Melan?’, if we can’t hear some sort of anime or comedy coming from his room. But TV isn’t his only passion, he also plays the guitar and sings. Not so much publicly but since the walls in our house are so thin I can hear practically everything and it’s great. I love hearing music floating around our house.
At number 3 is Miki and I think there’s far to much to say about Miki to do her justice properly but I’ll try and narrow it down to the key points. I actually found her quite overwhelming at first because you see she doesn’t have the pitch in her voice to say things in such a stern manner since she’s so soft spoken but boy when she does, it’s definitely something to listen too. She studies music and also sings and plays the guitar. Her singing voice is beautiful, so strong and clear, it makes me want to weep. I’m so glad to have met her and she’s done so much for me in the time that we’ve been together. Introducing me to Christ was by far one of the biggest and now I feel so joyful all the time and it’s all down to her.
Number 2 is Leo. Now, I actually met him in my first year through a very good friend of mine. Who would have though that a year later, I would be living with him. He’s always so thoughtful and gives the best hugs. But despite living with him, I don’t feel that I know a lot about him apart from that he’s very intelligent and has designed and built a miniature helicopter. I should probably work a little harder on our friendship.
And last but not the least in the slightest is Fed. She never fails to make me laugh like a lunatic and actually she has the funniest laugh ever. Actually, she too was born in Italy and coincidentally attended the same international school as Melan. That girl, just thinking about her makes me all smiley. Her kind caringness. I love how she turned out to be one of my best friends because when I first met her (she’s the only in the house that’s the same year as I am) I was determined to get to know her because she gave out such a happy pleasant aura that made everyone smile. Again, I don’t think I did her justice but no doubt this blog will be hearing about all the shenanigans this house gets up to.
I feel so blessed to have met everyone in this house and I have no doubt that the seasons will bring more joy to come. And at least now, if I mention someone, you’ll have an idea of who they are and how special they are to me because only the people I love make it on here in person.
